One of the many customised ‘brandwand’ (fire walls) you see around Berlin. These windowless end walls make really good blank canvases for art and graffiti, as there’s nothing to interfere with the image. The bold simplicity of this one makes a striking visual impression. There’s the contrast too, between the opportunity for free expression represented by these walls, and the reminder, within the image itself, of the removal of freedom.
